From the Fay-Cooper family:

It is hard to grasp that it has been a whole year since Lewis left on life’s greatest adventure, particularly when a light shines as bright as his did, but grasp we must. We are sure that he is in the minds and hearts of everyone reading this, each with their own personal memories of Lewis and stories to tell. Over the past year we have come to know our son as so much more through you the people who meant so much to him and for that we are grateful. We want to tell you that we are very aware that our loss is not just ours but yours too and each of you has a piece of him, given by him. The void that has been left in our lives and in yours is immense and nothing can ever replace him.

When we came to Killinkere 16 years ago not in a million years could we have predicted that Our boy would be the one to plant the roots that will see our family through lifetimes in KK. The past 12 months has been an incredible experience bearing witness to the love that poured forth for Lewis from you the community and beyond. We want to express our gratitude for the part Killinkere and its people played in the man our son became, particularly his beloved club and teammates who have grandly expressed in thought and deed their love and regard for Lewis. Also for the depth of feeling that has been extended to us on his behalf. We want to thank you for every gesture, every text, every call, every letter, every card, every gift, every cake, every picture, every word, every chat and every nod that we have received over this time, not a week has passed without some thought for him and us. It has been comforting to listen to those who have shared their sadness with us, and to those who helped pick us up on days where we could not, we say thank you. We had hoped, like yourselves, that at this time we might have been able to celebrate him together but we must wait a while longer it seems. When that time comes we hope that you will come and raise a glass to our Son, the man and the footballer. Until then we will all remember our own personal Lewis today in whatever way we can. He is with each and every one of us, of that we have no doubt.

We wanted to share with you an expression that may resonate with you of the day Lewis left us for greater things. To explain, it is a short video showing the alignments of stars etc. that were in place on April 26th 2020 specifically in Killinkere. Different stars and constellations are visible on different dates and in different places, the moon and planets are in different locations also. The accompanying music is created by using an algorithm to convert the colour and brightness of those stars to music. We like it and we hope you do too. You can watch it here.
